Since these transmission components are located relatively centrally under the vehicle, they are particularly vulnerable when crossing crests, during extreme articulation on the trail, hard impacts on rocks (rock crawling), or when driving over massive tree stumps. A mechanical impact in the field can quickly lead to cracks in the housing, fatal oil loss, and extremely expensive transmission damage.

Thanks to its intelligent design, this skid plate can be mounted completely independently and separately, without the need for other plates of the underbody system (such as the front engine or fuel tank protection) to be installed.
