When a Toyota Land Cruiser J120 is regularly heavily loaded or driven in demanding off-road conditions, its suspension bushings must absorb significantly higher forces than in normal road use. If the original rubber bushings are already soft or worn, the control arms and rear axle can move more under load than intended.

This blue 85 Shore A PU bushing kit renews numerous mounting points at the front and rear suspension. The firmer off-road version deforms less under load than the orange 75 Shore A version. This provides more direct suspension and axle location, but can also transmit impacts and vibration more noticeably to the body.

Why use PU under high loads?

With high payloads, axle articulation and strong braking or load changes, soft or aged rubber bushings can deform more. This allows the position of control arms and axles to change more temporarily. The firmer polyurethane used in this version remains more dimensionally stable under load and limits those movements more consistently, helping suspension and axle guidance remain more defined.

The 85 Shore A setup prioritises load capacity and precise control over maximum comfort. It is therefore particularly suited to frequent off-road use, high payloads or heavy touring builds. For predominantly road and touring use, the orange 75 Shore A version is usually the more balanced choice.

Measure the rear anti-roll bar before ordering

Depending on the vehicle, the rear anti-roll bar is 16 or 19 mm in diameter. Measure the outside diameter directly in the bushing area. Model year and engine alone are not sufficient for a reliable selection.

Installation note

Remove the old bushings completely and clean the mounting points. Use the supplied grease on the specified contact surfaces. After work on the axle suspension, all fasteners and the suspension geometry should be checked professionally.
