Lifting a Toyota Land Cruiser 70 changes the front-axle caster angle. At the same time, ageing rubber bushings in the control arms and Panhard rods can allow additional axle movement.

This blue Heavy-Duty 85 Shore A PU kit combines eccentric bushings in the front control arms with standard bushings for the front and rear axles. It is intended to partially correct caster with a lift of approximately 50 mm or 2 inches.

Measure before ordering

Measure the width of the existing frame-side bushings or control-arm mounts on the front and rear axles. The selected version determines the 35 or 40 mm mounting positions included in the kit.

Caster correction with eccentric bushings

The axle-side eccentric bushings in the front control arms offset the front axle within the bushing mount. This can partially compensate for the reduced caster caused by the lift.

The actual geometry depends on the real lift height, springs, control arms, axle position and the condition of the complete suspension. The kit does not replace a professional alignment check.

More stable axle location under high loads

The harder PU deforms less under braking, drive and lateral forces than ageing rubber. This allows the control arms and Panhard rods to locate the axles more precisely and helps keep the adjusted geometry more stable.

The firmer mounting can also transmit more impacts, noise and vibration to the frame and body.

Installation note

Install the eccentric bushings precisely in the specified rotational position. After installation, have caster, axle position, steering-wheel position and suspension geometry checked professionally.
